Last month, several idCOD students participated in the ASID Illinois Chapter THREAD Student Textile Challenge. This all-day charrette challenged students to design and create new fabric designs. The students were mentored by industry professionals on the characteristics of fabric, how its made, the environmental considerations of designing fabric, and how these all impact the performance of the fabric.
The COD students were teamed up with students from other colleges and each group came up with their own design and had to provide renderings of the finished fabric design.
And while only one group came out the winners of the challenge, we here at COD are proud of all the students that participated and congratulate them on their fantastic designs.
