Interior Designer
The Kitchen Master, a leading kitchen and bath design and installation firm in western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking an entry level interior designer to join our team and assist in our growth and expansion while learning every aspect of our successful business. Our 41 years of creative interior design expertise and our team of highly skilled professional craftsmen have fostered continued growth through our dedication to provide a client experience that is second to none.
The ideal candidate will be an eager well poised individual with a strong desire to become a top design professional in a personally and financially rewarding position with the support of a dynamic team of certified designers, support staff and skilled installers.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a personable team player and thrive in a creative environment
  • Have a clear understanding of client satisfaction with the innate ability to listen, interpret and present designs and plans that exceed their customers’ expectations
  • Have the verbal and written communication skills necessary to translate their ideas, designs and plans to an audience of professional, well-educated and multi-cultural and social mix of clients.
  • Be eager to learn and grow, have great attention to detail, the enthusiasm to meet deadlines and organize his/hers thoughts, presentations and actions clearly and effectively
    The initial job responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand The Kitchen Master operation, procedures and philosophy
  • Assist and be mentored by our experienced staff of designers and management team
  • Greet potential clients and introduce them to who we are and the services we offer
  • Participate in the duties of the showroom operation and schedule
  • Learn our wide selection of product lines and be able to explain and sell them
  • Create professional elevation, perspective drawings and floor plans
  • Assist senior designers with client selections and presentations
  • Interior design degree or comparable work experience
    Formal training and experience in design programs such as 20-20, Autocad, Sketchup or Chief Architect
  • Ability to work a varied schedule
  • Related experience in kitchen, bath design or residential interior design, products and services
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office and associated software
    Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and talent in design drawing
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and poise under pressure
  • Go-the extra-mile mentality in achieving personal and organization goals
