About 20 COD Kitchen & Bath students, faculty, and alums joined the Chicago-Midwest Chapter for Vendor Night at the Daltile showroom on Tuesday, March 24th. Everyone had a great time meeting the vendors and learning about their products. It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with professional chapter members.
Three students even took home attendance prizes from the drawing held at the end of the evening. Those of us who were still hanging around, enjoying the last of the evening, posed for a group photo.
Plans for students to attend the September chapter event were discussed with President, Terry McKinney. Many of the vendors and professionals were also inquiring about students for design and intern positions in their firms.
Anyone interested in becoming involved with the NKBA Student Chapter should contact Jane or one of the student officers. We will be wrapping up the year with a pizza party to celebrate the end of a successful year and to get plans in place for a strong kick-off in the fall with a membership drive and lots of events & activities.
One of the best investments you can make as a student, is the student membership fee to professional design organizations: ASID, NKBA, and/or IIDA. To provide students with more information about the benefits of membership, current members of these organizations will be in front of the bulletin boards in the hallway before and after classes this week to answer any questions. Stop by the table and talk to us.
Being in the lead feels good. Join ASID and stengthen your position! How? If you are currently enrolled in an interior design program that requires at least 40 credit hours or 60 quarter hours of interior design coursework to graduate, you’re eligible to be a part of the largest and most diverse interior design organization in the world.
